Smokey Eye Makeup for Hooded or Asian Eyes
[Music] hey guys it’s Tina here welcome back to my channel how are you all I hope you guys are all having an amazing day and if you’re not don’t worry because you’re here and you’re watching this video and your day is gonna get better so in today’s video I’m gonna show you guys how to do this smokey eye makeup look here but specifically for hooded eyes because you guys have requested it and I’ve listened and it’s been constantly all over my comments and everything so I thought yep I gotta do a hooded eye video so I’m gonna show you guys some of the techniques that I use on myself and on my clients to make your eyes look bigger and hopefully help you guys out there with the same problems with hooded eyes as always I’m gonna start off by priming my lid with Mac soft ochre and I’m just going to use my finger to apply that all over my lid then I’m gonna go into my new tartlet palette that I just recently bought from Sephora and I’ll be using the shade free spirit to set my face so I’m just using my Sigma e25 brush to apply that all over my lid and it’s pretty much a flesh color eye shadow so that’s just gonna set the base and help all the other colors that I apply on top blend really easily so now I’m going to grab my Mac 2 on 7 brush and dip it into the color wanderer and this is going to be my transition color and the trick is for hooded eyes is to apply it above the crease line that you have and if you have no crease line just apply it to where you think your socket would fall another good trick is to relax your eyebrow when you’re doing eye makeup and look straight ahead so then you can sort of see okay my crease is here and I need to work that transition color above that crease otherwise you can’t see the color and now with hooded eyes you actually have to apply on top of the hood so this part is the hood and you actually have to go higher than most other eye shapes that way you can actually see the color that you’re applying and not having a disappear when you open your eyes another good tip is always use matte eyeshadows okay so don’t go for anything she we on top of this hood part because that’s gonna actually reflect the light when we actually want to create a nice shadow and some depth in that area so ultra matte eyeshadow so once I’ve got my transition color in the correct spot I’m gonna go in with the darker color so I’m going to be using dreamer and multitasker mix together so some dark Browns and I’m just using the same brush so again look straight ahead and with this darker color I’m gonna place it on the outer corner of my eye okay and I’m going to pull that color up a little bit above that crease that I have so what we’re doing here is creating more depth okay so we’re creating a bit more shuttering and it’s sort of like a fake sort of socket line yeah and we could add eyes because we’ve got so much space there we have to bring the shadow up more okay so what I’m going to do is again work that color on the outer third I’m gonna bring that in now you have to be really light handed with this and you don’t want to go too far up because we want to leave a good space between our eyebrow and our eye shadow so just working that color through softly and gently now I’m going to deepen up that socket again and I’m going to go in with bombshell and again I’m just gonna go in with the same technique on the outer corner and really build the depth up also you need to be careful with what sort of shape you’re creating here because that’s gonna make your eyes look bigger so if you want to make them longer pull the eye shadow out a little bit if you want a more rounded eye then bring it and round it up a bit more so always make sure you keep an eye on the shape that you’re creating with this eye shadow I’m pretty happy with that now so I’m going to move on to the highlighted areas so this is when you can opt for a shimmery color because the shimmery color can just go under here and in the inner corners you don’t want the shimmery color up on your hood because that’s gonna give you the wrong look okay trust me I’ve tried it you should listen to me up from matte color and if you want to apply shimmery apply it into this area so today I’m just going to use my Sigma small eyeliner brush in a 10 and I’m gonna apply a shrimp from Mac as my highlight color so starting at the inner corners I’m just going to apply a bit of that color in there and then with whatever’s left on my brush I’m just going to apply it to the rest of my lid keeping it under my hood so this technique makes this space of my I look bigger because it’s highlighting and bringing attention to that area so this is a good trick for you guys with hooded eyes now I’m gonna move on to my lower lashes and I’m going to apply the same colors in the same order that I did up here so it’s starting off with wanderer I’m gonna apply that to my lower lash line and I’ll be using my Sigma a 56 brush which is a shade a lid brush and then I’m just gonna place that under here like so and really blend it downwards okay so again this is sort of like contouring our eye area so we’re gonna make it look a little bit bigger than what it actually is now I’m gonna go into dreamer and multitasker and then again apply that shade in here and I’m just going to drag it in to the center and focus it more on the outer corner again creating more depth and finally I’m gonna grab bombshell and apply that closer to my lash line and that’s gonna create more depth and you’re probably really sick of hearing me saying create more depth but really that’s the key to makeup for hooded eyes sorry sorry if I keep repeating myself but I just want to drill it into you guys cool so I’m pretty happy with that and I’m gonna move on to eyeliner now today I’ll be using my dolly wink liquid eyeliner and you guys see most of my tutorials because the tip of the brush is really really fine which is great for hooded eyes so I’m just gonna go in small strokes and stay really really close to my lashline and I just want to create a bit more depth okay again I said it again I’m so sorry I’m go gosh I’m just like a broken record here after I’m done with that I’m gonna curl my lashes give it a good squeeze because I’m gonna apply my false lashes and I want the two to blend together okay we don’t want that double wash effect happening because that ain’t good for my lashes today I’ll be using Valentina from lash bunny and bam you can see how much it really opens up my eyes lashes play a really really important role for hooded eyes so if you guys want to make your eyes look bigger and more open invest in some good lashes now as that’s I’m just gonna apply a layer of mascara under my lower lashes give them a bit of definition because my top lashes are so nice and full can’t neglect my lower lashes so I hope you guys found this video really useful because it was constantly requested on my channel and I hope you guys actually try out
